Cleaning up unused files safely
In short
Reclaimable space lists failed uploads and files left behind, and one button clears them.
Open Files. The Reclaimable space tile shows how much space you can free and how many files that is.
Click Clear orphaned & failed in the notice below it. It removes failed uploads and files whose course or product was deleted.
Confirm in the box that opens. Files that something still uses are kept.
Before you click
Click the tile first to see the files, largest first, so you know what will go.
A deleted file cannot be brought back.
Good to know
Files used in a lesson, a product or your pages are safe. The list only holds files nothing uses.
